Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actor. Also, she sings. Sara Ramirez was raised by an American mother, and was subjected to a variety of racist taunts and led her to feel unwelcome. After she participated in school contests and received great praise for her performance when she was in the ninth grade the young girl started to feel more confident. The experience not only increased her confidence but also changed the direction of her career. At the age of 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. As she was turning 23 she began her journey on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, when she was 23 her first film debut was You've received mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she starred in the role in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway show Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC, she gained greater recognition. A singer by profession and producer, she's produced songs as well as an extensive work. As an activist, she is a tireless advocate for LGBT equality.
